Arizona Board Of Regents Backs University Of Arizona Basketball Coach Sean Miller
The Arizona Board of Regents held a special board meeting Thursday to discuss legal advice “regarding University of Arizona men’s basketball and the multiple-year employment contract for the head men’s basketball coach.”
After an ESPN report alleged Sean Miller discussed a $100,000 payment to star freshman Deandre Ayton, the coach has been under scrutiny yet maintained his innocence in the matter.
In a separate news conference Thursday, Miller said he had never knowingly violated NCAA rules while serving as head coach.
Board chairman Bill Ridenour said after the meeting that the board had decided to stand with Miller.
