The Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian announced the winning design for a new, national Native American Veterans Memorial.

The artist chosen to build “The Warrior’s Circle of Honor” is a man named Harvey Pratt, a self-taught artist, Vietnam veteran and of Cheyenne/Arapaho heritage. His monument is meant to represent Native veterans of war from 650 individual tribes.

KJZZ’s Paige Phelps asked him to describe his design.
